Position: DB2 Designer/Developer.
Location: NYC.
Duration: Long Term Contract.
DO NOT NEED DB2 ADMINS.
NEED SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE EXTENSIVE DB2 DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT
Position description:
The candidate will be self-directed, and highly motivated individual with minimum 5-7 years of hands on database design/development experience using DB2 relational database on AIX/linux environment. An attitude to do whatever it takes to get the project done and deliver by project deadlines.
Skills Required:
Advance SQL design/development current experience with solid understanding of relational database design concepts such as data normalization, data types with emphasis on DB2 database as per standards, and with guidance of data architects.
DB2 database version needs to be current with at least 9.7+ version, preferably 10.1.
Strong development of stored procedures, triggers, PL/SQL packages and MQTs, and SQL tuning experience with proper exception handling.
Experience in packaging the changes to the database tables to run in automated fashion.
Knowledge of replication of database tables across environments.
Effective communication skills – oral, written and presentation. Interact and coordinate with other development teams. Able to handle work pressure effectively.
Demonstrated adaptability to organize, coordinate and implement tasks with strong attention to detail
Skills Desired:
Knowledge of perl/shell scripting language is preferable.
Understanding of job scheduling systems like autosys is desirable.
Good to have financial/banking domain experience.
Good to have other relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, MySQL
Good to have data warehouse experience.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is preferred
