Job Description:

 

Seeking a Java dev to work on the Payments and Commerce team, responsible for driving a portfolio of projects that augment revenue streams, modernize emerging payment platforms, and implement emerging payment solutions. help coordinate technical delivery of enhanced capabilities. Required skills 3-4 years of  Java experience with high volume systems 7-10 years of JavaJ2EE development Retail bill payment, domestic international money movement, and or digital wallet provisioning and payments Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and integration Strong knowledge of e-Commerce infrastructure concepts.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

-           Serving as a core member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs and develops software applications, and tests and builds automation tools

-          Owning all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications; Performing hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems

-          Performing hands-on software development and testing, typically spending about 50% of time writing code, API specs,

-          conducting code reviews and testing in ongoing sprints, or doing proof of concepts/automation tools

-          Driving consistent development practices - tools and common components; Developing deep understanding of tie-ins

-          with other systems and platforms within the supported domains

-          Working with technical product managers contributing to blueprints, and assisting with annual planning of feature sets

-          Identifying exciting opportunities for adopting new technology to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges

-          Mentoring engineers, and may have management responsibilities over 5-6 developers/ engineers

 

Qualifications:

 

ü  Define, own and evolve solution and technology architecture of mission critical systems.

ü  Provide thought leadership, strategy and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing data centric technologies.

ü  Technically lead software engineering team from concept to deployment and support.

ü  Collaborate with business users, PMs and other key supporting teams to estimate and plan work.

ü  Reports critical issues to management effectively, timely and with clarity.

ü  Participate in the governance process of our data management strategy / roadmap / execution plan

ü  Become subject matter expert and provide thought leadership for Data management, intelligence and monetization.

 

What You Need for this Position:

• BS/MS CS/SE/EE degree and equivalent with 7-10+ years of software engineering experience using Java/J2EE and related eco-system of technologies such as Spring, Play, Hibernate, REST/SOA frameworks

• Must have experience in architecting, building and maintaining large scale systems with capabilities of high availability and high scalability

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in big data technologies including Hadoop eco system, Cassandra, Storm

• Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. Amazon Web Services EC2, Elastic MapReduce) and considerations for scalable and distributed systems.

• Must have ability to effectively communicate across globally distributed cross-functional teams and roles.

• Knowledge of Apache Solr, Lucene, Storm and IBM Streams is a strong plus.

• Experience & knowledge of Apache Mahout, R language, statistical modeling is highly desirable.

• Contributions to open source projects like Apache Hadoop or Cassandra is a strong plus.
