Position: AX Testing Lead
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6 months+
Candidate should have 80% AX skills (Finance/SCM/Project Mgmt.) and 20% testing skills.
Responsibilities –
• Develop and drive a high-level QA strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy
• Create, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications
• Be highly committed to create world class automation for regression and feature testing.
• Must be well experienced with both Waterfall & Agile methodology
• Expert understanding of, and competency in, creating comprehensive test plans, test cases, resource plans, test schedules, and other QA work products.
• Understanding of software testing and systems architecture approaches
• Lead efforts to develop, document, and implement applicable QA processes and procedures to provide more effective quality methods within the group in support of providing quality products
• Manage processes for moving applications from test to production environments
• Collaborate with developers to improve overall product quality by emphasizing defect prevention throughout the development process.
• Maintain a high degree of error free programs, procedures, systems, and documentation on all software application releases.
• Anticipate potential software problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that ensure comprehensive testing.
• Identify areas for test improvement through analysis, experience and use of metrics.
• Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.
• Educate and train peers and subordinates on the QA process and provide guidance to them when they are unclear about the process.
• Provide coaching and guidance to the Quality Assurance Team on "best practices".
• Plan, organize, and monitor the execution of the work assignments for the Quality Assurance Team.
• Ensure that the project schedule is adhered to and the work is completed according to the schedule.
• Participate in daily project status meetings, scrums
• Remain current on changes and new developments on new and existing software applications/releases
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with peers in Product Development, Project Management, and Client Services, and with external vendors.
• Provide Daily Status, Weekly Status to QA Manager and Project Manager.
Experience & Technical Skills
• Prior testing experience in MS Dynamics AX implementation.
• Understand all facets of the MS Dynamics AX implementation including but not limited to Test Data Management, FSA automation (web and mobile), Performance and automation.
• Strong knowledge of the testing fundamentals including but not limited to testing process, estimation techniques, defect management, etc.
• Must have at least 9-10 years of experience in software quality assurance testing
• At least 5-7 years of Lead experience in handling projects independently and managing 5-10 member testing team
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Energy domain (Electricity, GAS)
• Experience in managing test environments
• Must have Quality Center / ALM experience
• Test Automation experience in QTP, Load Runner is plus
• Strong Experience in SQL, UNIX and DataWarehouse testing
• Experience in .NET, Sharepoint, Java applications is Plus
• Experience in Web, Mobile applications plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High standards of professionalism, integrity, and work ethics
• Experience managing offshore test teams and skilled at managing resources assigned to multiple concurrent projects.
• Proven ability to work cross functionally and drive process improvement across teams
