Senior Systems Administrator Job Responsibilities:
· Assess, prioritize, and resolve monitoring-related issues according to a system of designated priorities
· Assess and evaluate the overall health of supported monitoring tools
· Collaborate with Command Center, Application, and Infrastructure teams to gather monitoring-related requirements and deliver innovative, high-quality monitoring solutions
· Interface with Vendor technical support teams for resolution of issues with supported monitoring tools
· Develop scripts in support of newly identified monitoring opportunities
· Participate in On-call rotation with team members to provide 24x7 support of monitoring tools
· Ensure Enterprise Monitoring standards and processes are reviewed and adhered to
· Support upgrades and lifecycle management of Enterprise Monitoring tools
· Educate the IT Organization with regards to monitoring best practices
Senior Systems Administrator Job Requirement:
· Experience with monitoring methodologies, both remote and agent-based
· Required experience with Microsoft SCOM 2012
· Familiarity with Monitoring System Tool sets such as: Nagios, NMIS, Dynatrace, NetQos
· Familiarity with centralized log collection tools such as LogRhythm or Splunk, etc.
· Administration experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows server operating systems.
· Familiarity with troubleshooting network, application, and server-related issues.
· Experience with scripting languages such as: Powershell, Perl, VBscript, Python, Shell-based scripting
· Knowledge of firewall interaction, domain controllers, and networking equipment
· Knowledge of software development principles and methodologies
Additional Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent educational and/or work experience
· 3 to 5 Years of working experience in a monitoring or related IT discipline
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
· Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
· Customer-service oriented
· Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines
