Our Client is a Fortune 500 communications service provider that has grown through acquisitions over the past several years. They are in need of a Software Engineer to design, develop and test operating systems-level software, compilers and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications. You will modify existing databases and database management systems, write and code logical and physical database descriptions as well as specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding. You will be part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations. You will review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to complete the project.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required
- 5-7 years of practical experience required
- Must have knowledge of SDLC from business/systems analysis through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring to development, testing and delivery
- Must have ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as required to resolve issue
- Must have knowledge of computer software development software as it relates to systems like SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
- Must have good communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills
