Opportunity Overview:
Primary technical responsibility for the maintenance and operation of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) hardware and software. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies for network management, configuration, security and monitoring. The work is performed under general supervision with wide latitude allowed for the exercise of independent technical judgment in the performance of the work.

The incumbent is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies for network management, configuration, security and monitoring. The work is performed under general supervision with wide latitude allowed for the exercise of independent technical judgment in the performance of the work.
Required Qualifications:
Solid experience with Cisco Unified communication products like Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco attendant console and Cisco Call Manager express
Solid understanding in packet analysis to decode OSI layers to effectively troubleshoot network issues
Experienced in Virtual Private Networking technologies to include DmVPN v3, IPsec/IKE v1/v2 and Cisco Web SSL VPN
Experience with TCP/IP, routing and switching protocols, CISCO ASR routers, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco ASA Cluster firewalls with multi-contexts Firewalls, and IPS configuration
Experience with IPv4 technologies and routing to include OPSF, EIGRP, BGP, vPC, HSRP, H.323, SIP, TACACS+/RADIUS, RSA SecureID, EtherChannel, Rapid PVST+, PortFast, LACP, and other STP protocols
Preferred experience with developing and maintaining technical documentation (Engineering Design Documents, Change Requests, etc.)
Preferred experience with voice gateways: MGCP, SIP, H.323, SCCP, digital PRI/T1, analog FXO/FXS, media resources, SRST
Preferred experience in security identity management platform such as ACS 5.x, RSA SecureID 8.x
Exposure with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
Exposure to Cisco IOS/NxOS release and Cisco ASR router platforms, Cisco ISR router platforms, Cisco Nexus series platforms, ASA firewalls, ACS 5.x, IPS, load balancers, Catalyst 6500, 4500 & 3800 series platforms
Working knowledge of DNS and DHCP
Communication skills that includes the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, and speak and write clearly and understandably

Minimum 4+ years' experience required in design, planning, coordination and implementation of technology projects among multiple telecom and equipment vendors.

Capable of exercising extreme discretion and independent judgment
Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work efficiently and productively without direction or guidance
Ability to handle extremely confidential information in a professional manner
Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with a high level of confidence
