Description:
The Oracle EBS Applications Senior Techno Functional Consultant will work in the Oracle Financials/HR Technical Unit in the Information Technology Dept. of State Fund. This Unit is responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications R12.2.4 (called Oracle Financials/HR Application at State Fund). The current environment includes the following Oracle E-Business Suite modules:
- Financials: General Ledger, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payments, Fixed Asset, Property Manager, Inventory, Project Costing.
- Workflow: As embedded in the Oracle E-Business Suite.
- Self-Service: iProcurement, iExpense, iSupplier.
State Fund, at their discretion, can utilize Consultant resources in any capacity to meet the needs of State Fund. Consultant resources may be assigned by State Fund to lead teams, work independently, and work in teams lead by State Fund, Consultant resources, or teams lead by other consulting firms.
Responsibilities:
The Oracle Applications Senior Consultant will provide primary support for Oracle Financial modules with in-depth focus on Oracle General Ledger, both Functional & Technical. Good knowledge of modules like Purchasing, Account Payables, Account Receivables, Fixed Assets, Payments modules is strongly desired. Experience in the other Financials modules like Project Costing is a definite plus. The Oracle Applications Senior Consultant will perform functional, technical and maintenance functions to include, but not be limited to the following:
- Subject matter expert for all Oracle General Ledger related matters to include:
o Multiple Ledgers, Subledger(s), Ledger Sets, Operating Units, Balancing Segments, Chart of Accounts
- Work closely with Business Users to scope and draft functional requirements
- Understand the Business requirements and convert them into technical requirements
- Help Users to create test cases, use cases and help with functional testing
- Ability to debug the system for certain behavior of the feature(s) and explain it to the Users
- Perform fit/gap analysis to evaluate each functional area in a business process to achieve specific goal(s)
- Identify/modify standard/custom reports that are needed to produce Statutory, Management, Reconciliation reports and others
- Develop/maintain interfaces from/to Oracle General Ledger
· Provide requirements to third party applications that interface with Oracle General Ledger
- Create ad hoc reports as per the requirements
- Create, test and implement code changes and integrate them with existing programs as needed
- IT Resource for Oracle Financials/HR related projects
- Coordinate meetings/communications with the Oracle Financials/HR User Community
- Mentor Employees as needed
- Provide End User Support and Training
- Ensure that all I.T. requirements (documentation, sign-off, and approvals) are completed as per State Fund's System Engineering Handbook
- Provide timely and effective reporting on status of projects
Desired Experience/Skills
The Oracle Senior Consultant shall possess most of the following technical skills and experience:
· Oracle General Ledger R12+ implementation experience with strong expertise in setting up ledgers, ledger sets and chart of accounts
· Experience with multiple ledgers and multiple operating units configuration is a plus
· Experience with Subledger Accounting (SLA) specially as related to Ledgers
· Experience with Accrual Accounting
· Experience with Public Entity Financial Reporting
· Experience with Oracle G/L period, quarter, year-end reconciliation and closing process
· Experience with Oracle G/L interface creation and maintenance is strongly desired
· Experience with Web ADI
· Good knowledge of Compliance, Financial Control, Regulatory, and Management Reporting is a plus
· Current knowledge of trends in IT and experience in the development of new technologies
- Experience with change management Procedures is a must.
· 5 years+ experience with in-depth focus on Oracle General Ledger and other financial modules.
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and SQL*Loader.
- Experience with Oracle Reports, Forms, JDeveloper, Workflow, and BI Publisher is a plus
- Experience with SOX compliance environments with segregation of duties is desired.
- Exposure to EBS version 12.2.4+ is a plus
- Strong understanding of the E-Business Suite Database objects and structures.
- Experience writing detailed technical/Conversion Design/Technical Installation documentation including but not limited to MD070, CV040, MD120, and CV120.
· Experience as project manager with a proven ability to provide project leadership.
· Experience with organizational data requirements and complex business rules, translating them into detailed program specifications.
· Experience with application systems development life cycle methodology.
· Experience providing assistance, advice, and guidance to project team members on relational database design concepts, application development, efficient production job design, testing concepts, and other specialties.
· Extensive knowledge of data access methods.
· Knowledge and understanding of Object Oriented and/or relational data base concepts and principles.
· Experience with testing concepts and techniques promoting applications to production
· Experience evaluating vendor software packages.
· Experience in coordinating and consulting with software vendors for product utilization.
· Experience in the Worker's Compensation, Insurance, Financial Services industry a plus.
Demonstrable Skills
The Consultant resource(s) shall possess most of the following qualifications:
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information identify and formulate solutions to problems.
· Provides more in-depth analysis with a high-level view of goals and end deliverables.
· Complete work within a reasonable time frame under the supervision of a manager or team lead.
· Plan and manage all aspects of the support function.
· Extensive knowledge of and proven experience with data processing systems, and methods of developing, testing and moving solutions to implementation.
· Strong knowledge in project management practices and ability to document processes and procedures as needed.
· Work collaboratively with other support team members and independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision
· Communicate effectively with users at all levels, from data entry technicians up to senior management, verbally and in writing.
· Self-motivated, working closely and actively communicating with person to accomplish time critical tasks and deliverables
· Ask questions and share information gained with other support team members, recording and documenting this knowledge
· Elicit and gather user requirements and/or problem description information, and record this information accurately
· Listen carefully and act upon user requirements
· Convey and explain complex problems and solutions in an understandable language to both technical and non-technical persons
· Present technical solutions to management and decision makers
· Follow the lead of others on assigned projects as well as take the lead when deemed appropriate
· Think creatively and critically, analyzing complex problems, weighing multiple solutions, and carefully selecting solutions appropriate to the business needs, project scope, and available resources
· Take responsibility for the integrity of the solution
