My client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineers for their location in Longmont, CO This is a Contract Position . Local talent only
About the position:
Design, configure, install and maintain communication services within the network infrastructure (e.g., routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, security devices, WAN technologies, Internet service providers, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Test network enhancements for accuracy and goal achievement prior to implementation.
· Perform network configuration tasks, monitoring implementation and providing support in a timely and accurate manner.
· Provide network security by configuring routers, switches, firewalls etc. according to West information security standards.
· Monitor security measures in place within network perimeter, ensuring security breaches do not occur and information is safeguarded from unauthorized users, etc.
· Know and support approved corporate and departmental policies relating to business procedures, philosophies and conduct.
· Prepare reports and network performance summaries for management in an accurate and timely manner, outlining network status, making recommendations for enhancements based on report data
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or engineering, MIS, or a related field required.
· Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
· Minimum of eight years network infrastructure experience required.
· Effective strong leadership skills leading others CSP (Service Provider) experience required; Verizon/At&T/Sprint, etc.
· Based on assigned function: Hardware: Switches, routers, CSU/DSU Software: UNIX, intrusion detection system, firewalls, Windows OS, IP Telephony, network management systems, and network analysis, and the following are preferred CCIE, CISCO, Multi-Vendor experience, WAN, Firewall, and Network Design on large scale networks
· Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel required
· Service provider (CSP) experience strongly preferred; Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/etc.
· Cisco or other network vendor professional level certification (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CCVP, CCDP, etc.) preferred
· Working experience in below switching protocols.
· STP, RSTP, MSTP, LACP, PAGP, HSRP,VRRP,
· DHCP,DNS
· Working experience in cisco nexus switches 7K, 6K, 5K, 2K
· Knowledge in VPC, VDC, fabric path etc..
· Hands on experience in upgrading network switches, Routers and Firewalls
· Hands on experience in any Firewall like Cisco ASA, Juniper, Checkpoint etc..
· Hands on experience in configuring and troubleshooting site-to-site VPN and remote access VPN's
· Very good knowledge in NAT/PAT
· Very good knowledge in Firewall issue trouble shooting's.
· Experience in dynamic routing protocols like OSPF, BGP and EIGRP
· Experience MPLS, VPLS will be added advantage
