Location: Omaha, NE

Rate: $60/hr on C2C

Job Description:

 

Primary duties to be performed

•         Works with infrastructure team to build and implement new hardware and virtuals, upgrade existing SQL server environments, and modify existing hardware configurations in a multi-clustered and virtualized Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server architecture.

•         Works with application development teams to implement database changes in non-production environments.

•         Performs database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, database maintenance and monitoring, performance tuning, and transactional replication.

•         Provides support for vendor developed database implementation and periodic maintenance releases as required.

•         Monitors standards and procedural compliance and integration of systems through database design.

•         Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

 

Describe the requirements

•         Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent related work experience (typically seven years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor's degree).

•         Five years of experience administering SQL Server database environments.

•         Certification in a specific relational database technology or equivalent experience.

•         Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions and major vendors.

•         Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

•         Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

 

Describe the performance expectations

•         Demonstration of advanced technical knowledge of database infrastructures and business processes supported.

•         Effective translation of written and verbal communications into database design specifications and design specifications into integrated data structures.

•         Emphasis on identification and fulfillment of customer requirements.

•         Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy.
