Data Analyst
Duration: 6 Months
Description:
Enterprise Data Management team is seeking a Data Analyst to resource a three-year project implementing Healthcare X.12 version 5010 and ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, as mandated by the federal government under Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Develop and enhance data models and database solutions for enterprise applications and reporting systems as required to meet implementation deadlines. Provide data flow and data mapping documentation as needed. Ensure enterprise data resources are consistent and sharable across all information systems. Maintain the repository of information about enterprise databases, i.e. data model diagrams, data definitions and attributes.
Experience requirements
Minimum:
- 5 years of information systems experience, with at least 3 years as a Data Analyst:
- Developing Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models with CA ErWin version 7.x.
- Developing and documenting data flows with Visio
- Working with Business Analysts to create BPMN compliant business process flow diagrams, Use Cases, Stories, and/or Requirement documents
- Working with Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence Analysts to create data models, data mappings, use cases, stories and/or specs for reports, dashboard and data cubes.
Supporting multiple concurrent development projects, enhancements and retrofitting.
Preferred:
- Healthcare industry experience and implementation of prior HIPAA data set mandates in a Health Insurance environment.
- Experience working with Agile software development methodologies, especially SCRUM and KANBAN
- Experience working for a top-tier consulting firm, providing data analyst services for clients
Knowledge requirements
Minimum:
- Ability to produce logical data and process models based on principles of normalization and using standard diagramming techniques; familiarity with relational data concepts and theory.
- Familiarity with electronic data interchanges standards and data integration techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Demonstrated interviewing and facilitation skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of SQL programming language.
- Skill in using computer aided software engineering (CASE) tools.
- Knowledge of ANSI HL7 and ANSI X12 for Healthcare standards.
Education requirements
Minimum:
Bachelors degree or formal training in data resource management principles.
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in computer science, or information systems management
Completion of data resource management certificate program or similar formal training in data resource management principles.
