Summary:

Technically proficient candidate who is responsible for QA activities in Agile development environment with emphasis on automation; additionally, will lead efforts in evaluating, planning and executing test automation efforts for regression of product releases or development done in a non-agile approach. Should be able to work under minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading test activities for assigned projects in an Agile development environment
• Looks for opportunities to decrease testing time by leveraging automation
• Uses Automated tools for testing including using scripting tools to test application components that do not yet have UI layers
• Develops, maintains and upgrades manual test harnesses, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans.
• Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms.
• Controls and manages daily test activities for assigned area or application(s).
• Coordinates project planning efforts with other areas or cost centers affected by work unit projects.
• Coordinates fail-over testing when new or major changes are made to an infrastructure.
• Administers and controls test tools.
• Organizes and maintains the test script library for assigned area or application(s).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Complexity of Work: Moderately routine; general policies applied. Some decision-making.
Education: Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in computer science, management of information services or a related field.
Experience: Overall 10 years (5-7 years in quality assurance) with full life-cycle test, writing test plans, developing test cases and implementing test strategies; including two years leading complex test programs and two years' experience with testing tools; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PROFILE SPECIFICS:
- Experienced in Agile development methodology in the .Net development environment
- Motivated and quick learner who can adeptly adapt to changing requirements and demands of a project
- Is "proactive" in dealing with situations – takes charge and is result-oriented
- Be able to engage with Development team in design sessions and extract/shape acceptance criteria with the product owners and development team
- Technically proficient - Programming background required (any language acceptable, but C, C# or Java preferred); should be able to read/understand code snippets
- Proven experience with developing automation frameworks is required; automation using Selenium IDE or Webdriver is a plus; QTP working knowledge preferred but not required.
- Must understand the technical concepts of APIs, Services, Web deployments, .Net Architecture concepts, Configuration Files, IIS hosting, Point of Sale devices
- Domain knowledge/experience of the Payments Industry (practices, players, regulations) is a plus
- Should be knowledgeable in one of the scripting languages - Python (preferred), Ruby, Perl
- Understand databases (SQL Server preferred) and is able to write complex queries
- TFS (Team Foundation Server) working knowledge is required
- MS Test Manager working knowledge is highly preferred
- Must be a quick and sharp thinker and be creative enough to react to the dynamic nature of Agile development
- Should have an eye for detail and be able to work under pressure.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ADVANCED level proficiency in QA practice - creating/maintaining test plans, creating test harnesses, scripts; executing scripts and reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of methods, tools, and technology used in software testing
• Thorough knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools, and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software that meets the needs of the client/business partner
• Considerable knowledge of the basic principles, processes, phases and roles of application development methodologies
• Knowledge of project management principles, methods and tools that is demonstrated through test projects
• Considerable skill in understanding and focusing on the clients' needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients
• Ability to manage change throughout the test process
• Ability to deliver results under pressure
• Ability to manage conflicting interests and identify compromises
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills, working with technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of management and non-management positions
• Ability to communicate with individuals at a level appropriate for the audience
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
