NYC, long term, downtown foreign investment bank. Main 2 things must have:  LDAP migration experience and DNS clean-up. FACE TO FACE IS A MUST

 

Our client, provider of access to domestic and global markets, is looking for two Systems Administrators to work on an LDAP migration and a DNS clean-up. The roles will involve administration, migration of user accounts.

CORE SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTION:

The client is looking for a systems engineer with strong Core Services experience. This role will support a regional to global corporate migration with a focus on migrating Unix servers to a new namespace following a global standard. This will also, require the candidate to have strong LDAP knowledge, Unix skills, as well as other core services experience such as DNS, SMTP, and NTP. Weekend and after hours work will be required for migrations.

GENERAL SKILLS:

  • Strong Communications skills
  • Good documentation skills
  • Must have strong troubleshooting/resolution skills
  • Must work well in a team atmosphere
  • Experience in financial atmosphere a plus
  • Must be able to function in a fast pace high pressure environment

UNIX Skills:

  • Experience with both Solaris and Linux naming is a distinct advantage
  • Unix shell or perl scripting to an above average level is required
  • Unix Administrator skills a plus

CORE SERVICES SKILLS:

  • Unix Naming and LDAP
  • Migrating user and group information from one backend store to another
  • Ability to script checks and data extracts against LDAP stores is a key skill required
  • Following documented process to import data into an LDAP store
  • Follow conflict resolution process and coordinate any LDAP data updates via internal change control approval. 
  • The conflict resolution will either be LDAP data changes or coordinating file system re-permissioning
  • Weekly reports showing progress of the data into the new environment
  • Kerberos
  • Assist with the Kerberos deployment following Global standards
  • Assist in Psynch Kerberos password solution (nice to have)
  • DNS
  • Experience with QIP infrastructure (nice to have) 
  • Required knowledge of ability to troubleshoot DNS and understand basic key concepts relating to DNS
  • Cleanup DNS zones / using dlint or the like for syntactic and semantic errors
  • Identify any missing reverse zones
