We are looking for an System Engineer (Vmware) to support world's leader in providing IT consulting and software services to the finest global organizations client.

This is a 6 months Contract extendable Position based in NY/NJ

 

Role: System Engineer (Vmware)

Location: NY/NJ

Duration: 6 months Contract

 

Role:

Build-out Berg Datacenter

Build-out production application replication and SRM infrastructure between CDC and BDC

Go live

7 C7000 chassis, 112 bl460 blades

20 rack mount DL380 2u servers

450 VMs

 

Responsibilities the consultant will execute in support of the milestones include the following but are not limited to:

·         Designing and deploying the DR environment utilizing VMware on HP blades.

·         Configuration of HP blades, upgrade of firmware in chassis, blades, Onboard Administrator, etc.

·         Configuration of HP FlexFabric modules for Network and Fibre connections.

·         Configuration of VMware Virtual Switches and Virtual Distributed Switches.

·         Design and deploy rack-mount server solutions in support of Berg perquisites.

·         Design and deploy solutions for monitoring, performance, and capacity planning based on vCOps and other tools that the consultant may propose.

·         Designing and deploying the VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) test and production environments, including custom scripts that will be used to ensure proper replication, and restore order of VMs that are brought online in the event of a DR scenario.

·         Develop and implement test plans for SRM.

·         Develop and implement test plans for the other POCs, including running active/active applications via F5 load balancing.

·         Build all Berg production datacenter virtual and physical environments.

·         Assist in designing and building test environments as needed.

·         Produce documentation as necessary.

·         Transfer knowledge to Windows and Unix teams

·         Present solutions to senior-level audiences, both technical and non-technical.
