Primary Skills:Oracle DBA, Oracle 11g, UNIX/Linux, ETL, BI, 24x7 IT operations support
Experience Oracle DBA with Standard Edition in a production environment needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide 24x7 IT operations support for the database tier across software lifecycles. In addition to day-to-day tasks, off hours support for production support and maintenance activities will be required.
• Provide support for troubleshooting, deployment, configuration and change management routines for the database tier
• Develop architecture and implement/execute strategy to support enterprise reporting initiative leveraging Oracle tools for data replication, ETL and data integration across disparate data sources.
• Work with application development teams to develop best practices surrounding database development and design, including co-development of data architecture and assisting in SQL tuning.
• Work with hosted infrastructure services to maintain/upgrade/patch DB server and Oracle RDBMS
• Profile server performance and setup / respond to alerts for performance, capacity, utilization, long running queries, etc.
• Develop metrics that enable effective capacity planning, develop the plan, and then monitor / adjust the plan
• Optimize for performance, including but not limited to server configuration, managing statistics, indexes, unusual data growth, etc.
• Configure, automate and manage database maintenance routines/tasks
• Develop policy, procedures and standards for database development, deployment, roll back and administration.
• Design and ensure disaster recovery, business continuity and data retention mechanisms are in place and appropriate processes documented and tested. This includes maintenance and execution of backups, recovery, replication, etc. to ensure system's data integrity and recoverability.
• Manage and provision users
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Effectively work and communicate across departments to organize, rally and drive disparate teams around common goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Extensive Oracle DBA experience, 11g preferred with various configurations and feature utilizations
• Proven experience with UNIX/LINUX
• Minimum of 8 years' experience supporting highly available, mission critical database systems
• Proven experience with being able to develop and architect database solutions from an application and infrastructure perspective
• Proven ability to write and maintain policy, procedure and reference documentation
• ETL and BI/reporting experience a plus
