Need-----Sr. Data Analyst / Dallas, TX ( Remote is also fine ) / Long Term Contract

Position: Sr. Data Analyst

Location: Dallas / Plano, TX area is preference, but remote is ok

Duration: Long Term

 

Required Skill set:

 

Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with the following:

1. Working in the following areas:
1. Data Warehousing and ETL
2. Data Marts
3. Data Profiling
4. Data Modeling
5. Data Quality Analysis
2. Modeling Dimensional Databases and Data Marts (includes physical and logical models)
3. Writing complex SQL and stored procedures (DB2 preferred); translating specifications and rules into SQL
4. Working with data modeling tools (Erwin preferred)
5. Interpreting and writing source to target mappings (ETL transformation rules)
6. Working with string and data manipulation functions and macros with Microsoft Excel
7. Metadata management and data governance
8. Creating and maintaining data dictionaries
9. Maintaining and interpreting data lineages

 

Required Capabilities:

• Ability to speak to the various aspect of the SDLC
• Ability to draw out high-level and detailed designs and represent them as flow diagrams (preferably using Visio)
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Ability to look at the given system/solution from a tool/technology-agnostic perspective and document deterministic rules / behavior in pseudo-code
• Ability to design end-to-end data warehousing / reporting solutions using components like databases,
• ETL tools and reporting frameworks
• Ability to provide time estimations for SA activities for a project based on the design
• Ability to work closely with Development, PV and UAT teams to provide them the required support
• Ability to perform and provide a detailed system impact analysis for a given change request and provide estimates
• Able to lead junior SA persons and possibly provide feedback on multiple projects

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good documentation skills
• Proficiency in English language (as a medium of communication)
• Frank and open communication with peers and higher-ups about realistic estimations and meeting
• timelines/expectations and proactive communication of issues and concerns thereof
• Assertiveness in communicating ideas, estimates, scope and timelines
