Job Title: Engineer – Application Development (Web Methods)

 

Main Purpose of Role:

Analysis and Design, Development and Implementation of Enterprise and B2B integrations

 

Role Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have a development background and must have a minimum of 3 years of total experience in application development/integrations including at least 2 years of strong experience in Web Methods (Developer, webservices, JDBC adapter, Trading Networks, etc.), including Core Java, XML, and database knowledge of SQL. The environment is HPUX, Linux, as well as XP, and experience in any of these is also desirable.
• Successful applicants must have excellent problem solving skills, strong implementation skills as well design and development skills, able to work in a structured environment and familiar with the concepts and tools necessary for version control and release management. Previous experience of working in a Telecom environment would be preferable but not essential.
• The ability to understand integration from an end-to-end perspective is crucial for solution design, implementation, and testing of integrations as they are released into the Production environment.
• This is a challenging role with the opportunity to learn Integration in the Telecom industry.
• It is a customer facing role so candidate will need perfect communication skills as well as the ability to judge when to escalate problems.
• The individual must be able to work on own initiative, and is responsible for setting procedures, documentation and guidelines for Integration team. The successful applicant will be able to deal with all levels of the business.  Liaison with other technical teams will be required to resolve local support issues and ensure a professional level of support to the user base.

 

Essential Requirements:

• B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc./M.Tech. with a minimum of 3 years of total experience in application development/integrations including at least 2 years of strong experience in Web Methods (Developer, webservices, JDBC adapter, Trading Networks, etc.), including Core Java, XML, and database knowledge of SQL.
• Must be highly customer focused and understand the customer's service requirements
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize workload, according to SLA's and defined deadlines
• Experience of problem analysis and resolution
• Self control under pressure
• Able to work on own initiative
• Ability to manage workload in multiple projects effectively
• Liaise effectively with other teams where necessary
• Flexible in approach, and prepared to assist other technical disciplines to resolve support issues
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
• Excellent analysis skills and foresight / understanding of production Support issues.
• Ability to manage incidents to completion and appropriately document the incident for future reference and closure of the feedback loop to the consumer.

 

Desirable Requirements

• Knowledge of Application Servers, web services and unix scripting would also be desirable.
• Experience/knowledge on SOA

 

Knowledge & Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of total experience in application development/integrations including at least 2 years of strong experience in Web Methods (Developer, webservices, JDBC adapter, Trading Networks, etc.), including Core Java, XML, and database knowledge of SQL.
