Location: Mountain View CA/Beaverton OR

Duration: 12 months

Duties              We're seeking a Web Developer with a solid background in front-end web engineering to work in our fast paced and dynamic environment supporting Symantec's Norton Live Services business. You will have the chance to become a key member of the team enabling the Symantec services business to grow and expand its global PC service offerings. RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be expected to communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements.You must demonstrate solid understanding web technologies, usability, and a keen eye for design.You will both maintain legacy sites as well as create new sites from the ground up.You may be requested to build mock ups and pair with other developers to bring their skills up in these areas. You will be expected to provide written design documents and functional specifications as well as be familiar with testing processes.   You must be passionate and driven to deliver best in class solutions that will drive the business into the future.

Skills              - Understand web standards- Know how to deal with browser compatibility issues(ie6+, FF, etc)- 5+ years of HTML, CSS, Javascript- 2+ years of jQuery- 2+ years Server-side scripting experience (php,jsp etc)- Thrives on pixel-perfect sites- Good to have these software skills: Photoshop, CMS like Interwoven Teamsite, Omniture, Jira- Should understand the special needs of localization- Excellent debugging techniques - Self-motivated. Can-do attitude. Good team player. Hardworking. - Must be flexible to work in early or late office hours, when required - Must have initiative and willingness to work overtime during required periods to achieve project milestones - Ability to work and communicate well with the other members of the team. - Excellent communication skills in both formal and informal settings - Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment - Desire to use cutting edge technologies.

Education           Bachelor's degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience required RELATED EXPERIENCE DESIRED 2-4 years in IT application support positions Technical knowledge with aspects of specific application solutions.Familiar with basic coding and SLDC processes and procedures. Prefer training or experience with current industry development tools and standards. Familiarity with troubleshooting and defining application solutions at a user level.  Previous experience in technical or customer support, IT operations, or related area.
