General Responsibilities:

1) The Project Manager will be responsible as part of the Global SAP Project Management team for

the management of various discrete SAP projects and initiatives. This is a long term contract

position.

2) The Project Manager will contribute to the definition, continuous review and improvement of

Project Management best practices within the SAP group and for communication and training as

required.

3) The Project Manager will contribute to the development of relevant tools and solutions to best

present and facilitate Global Project Management activities within the SAP group.

Key Functional Responsibilities:

1) Project management function for discrete SAP projects

2) Project management supervision/best practice guidance for SAP projects managed by other

staff/managers (dependent on levels of experience and specific requirements)

3) Contribution to ongoing education and communication of the project management

methodology and associated tools for new team members/new managers

4) Contribution to ongoing review and development of the adopted project management

methodology and associated tools (PM Portal)

5) Effective communication with project managers to ensure successful introduction of best

practices and identification of further requirements for process and technical enhancements

6) Continuous analysis of lessons learned for ongoing and completed projects for input to

knowledge base/future process and tool enhancement requests

7) Support the Global SAP Project Management lead in additional tasks related to the delivery of

the Project Management methodology and individual projects

8) Provision of support for compliance activities and other best practice initiatives (e.g. Corporate

IT management, Sarbanes-Oxley)

9) Provision of ongoing and regular status updates to the Global SAP Project Management lead

Challenges faced:

1) Delivery of Project Management function in a fast moving and dynamic environment across a

wide range of initiatives

2) Contribution to effective co-ordination of multiple concurrent SAP projects and programs across

diverse teams and locations

3) Effective delivery of Project Management support, guidance and best practice inputs for

projects managed by other managers

4) Development, maintenance and deployment of a single global Project Management

methodology

5) Co-ordination of Project Management activities and projects across multiple teams and physical

locations

6) This position demands extensive experience gained in a range of SAP Project environments and

disciplines

Key Success Factors:

1) Extensive hands-on SAP experience in a range of different disciplines (Functional/ and or

Technical)

2) Successful track record for delivery of SAP projects across a number of different areas / project

life-cycle phases
