Description:
Our client is looking for a candidate who can fit into the role of an Onsite Lead Oracle DBA.
The candidate should have strong background in Oracle DBA as well as prior experience working in an onsite-offshore model.
- A Technical Project Lead/Senior Oracle DBA who has managed development and administration efforts. Typically someone with 8-12 years IT experience with current 3-4 years in a lead/manager role
- Should have a technical background and be able to plan out the activities of the team as well as Client coordination
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g/11g standalone and RAC in a unix & linux environments.
- Experience in database design and Knowledge of logical modeling.
- Experience with Data Guard & RMAN for Backup and Recovery.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Code Review and PL/SQL tuning - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
- Strong Troubleshooting skills to resolve problems with database integrity, blocking and deadlocking, data guard, connectivity, security, system, network and storage issues etc.
- Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using AWR and ADDM reports and other tools.
- Experience with OEM, Import/Export (and Data pump), SQL*Loader
- Experiences in Patch Upgrades, rolling patch upgrades and Cloning databases in a RAC
- Experience in On-Call support 24x7 in a group rotation.
- Knowledge of Database Tools (Grid Control, Toad, Confio, etc ..)
- Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.
- Experience working with vendor support to resolve issues.
- Experience with Unix/Linux for basic commands, shell/perl scripting.
- Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KB, run books, topology etc)
- Experience of supporting multiple teams on multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritize on the fly.
- Strong interpersonal and positive attitude and ability to effectively work with others. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues.
- Strong capacity for finding creative solutions to problems in a team or independently, self-directed, self-motivated, and assertive.
- Oracle Certification is a plus.
- Experience working with MYSQL database is a plus
- Experience working with MSSQL(SQL 2005/2008) database is a plus
- Knowledge of Quest Shareplex is a plus
- Knowledge of Oracle Streams and Advanced Replication is a plus
- Be a self-starter and able to work closely with client teams to acquire the knowledge, plan and coorinate with offshore development teams and be able to do scheduling, task definition, overseeing development efforts
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation
