| The role of the Senior Sharepoint Developer is to develop (i.e.: program) pieces of software as per the sponsors' requirements. The sponsor can be a user, a department or a project. The delivered product will essentially comprise of a GUI (graphical user interface), an engine (i.e.: for calculation, decisions making, order passing, etc.) and a data component (i.e.: pull in, manipulate, store, push out). In compliance with the firm's software development policies the Senior Sharepoint Developer is providing software solutions that will allow the firm to increase its productivity and efficiency, streamline its processes, mitigate risk, remain compliant with the changing markets regulations and in turn build up its competitive advantage.

| Essential duties and responsibilities: |
|
In close collaboration with the user community as well as with the other IT groups the Senior Application Developer is performing the following actions.
Development - Gather, understand and analyze user requirements - Turn these requirements into functional and technical specification documents outlining: o Business need(s) to be addressed o Software alternatives o Proposed alternative along with action plan and cost o Justification of the selected technologies - Implement, test, release and maintain/support the software solution in line with the agreed upon specifications
Support - Troubleshoot applications, databases and processes as needed - Assist users to make the best use of the delivered technologies - Train users, colleagues and peers as needed - Deal with vendor and external counterparties as needed
Guidance & Project Management - Provide guidance to more junior staff within the team - Take ownership of medium scale projects
Other - Report comprehensive status to management on a regular basis - Write technical and functional documentation as needed - Continue to develop technical skills and learn new technologies as needed - Be aware and observe the firm's software development needed
Specifics
- Minimum Bachelors degree. Ideal candidate will have 7+ years experience in a capital markets or investment banking environment as an IT developer.
- Extensive experience and expertise in (in order of priority):
Microsoft .NET: o Creating web-based, Windows applications using Microsoft .NET technologies. o Integrating Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) with web applications. o Expert in ASP.NET, C#.
Sharepoint (MOSS 2007): o Sharepoint technologies (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Office SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint Designer 2007, InfoPath, Forms Services, Excel Services, Search, Business Data Catalog and Web Services) in a variety of business environments. o Sharepoint architectural design, web parts development, web services, workflows, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise Sharepoint implementations.
J2EE: o Maintaining our existing web applications using J2EE technologies. o Strong in EJB 3.0, JSP, Hibernate, and ICEfaces.
Databases: o Creating advanced databases using MS SQL Server. Sybase or Oracle experience also a plus.
Other: o Perl o MyEclipse 9.0 IDE o Overnight batch design, set-up and support in a scheduling tool like Control-M or Autosys.
- Other skills that make an ideal candidate: o Documentum development (WDK, DFC, DFS, DQL, etc.) o Blackberry application development |
