Primary Job Responsibilities:

. Defines, drives future vision and owns the evolution of the user experience for a wide range of complex products.

. Champions and maintains eBay design standards and industry best practices across owned products.

. Collaborates with and influences cross-functional teams to deliver a world-class customer experience.

. Articulates design rationale as a means to balance business goals and user needs, and ensures stakeholder satisfaction with the results delivered by the User Experience Design team.

. Ensures fellow team members consistently meet stakeholder goals and produce world-class deliverables.

. Leads and mentors fellow designers at all levels.

. Ensures that team members understand, leverage, influence and communicate new technologies and techniques that improve the user experience.

Job Requirements:

. Ability to act independently as well as collaboratively within the context of a larger team.

. Expert understanding of design issues for complex online experiences and products Takes ownership of projects and products.

. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present work and interface with all levels of management - negotiating and influencing to build consensus.

. Constantly seeks out ways to innovate around inherent limitations and provides guidance for incorporating new and emerging techniques and technologies.

. Portfolio exhibits solid system thinking in regards to the overall user experience, a solid grasp of information architecture and web technologies, and expert implementation of the visual design.

. Working knowledge of current user experience design principles, standards and trends.

. 8+ years professional related work experience.

. Expert level ability in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks.

. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Flash and other web technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

2.  UI Designer (User Interface)

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 6 months

User Experience Designer

 

Please only submit candidates who have online portfolios that showcase wireframes and flow diagrams. Please include link to portfolio.

The qualified design candidate will work independently and with other team members to help shape the future of online payments.  The ideal candidate has a strong sense of design in respect to creating simple, elegant, aesthetically pleasing interfaces based on user-center design principles. This person will be responsible for all stages of user experience design throughout the product lifecycle ensuring a compelling look and feel that meets branding, business and user requirements (spanning user interface, interaction and visual design).  Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills are a must.  Our compensation is commensurate with experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

•             Working closely with a cross-functional team to assess product requirements, the designer will translate requirements into concepts and elegant user design, interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience for various online payment products

•             Organize these design details into a complete user experience design specification to be used as a blueprint for development

•             Work closely with user research team members to better understand the user by testing the usability of features and conceptual designs

•             Have practical experience employing user centered design methods

•             Have a good understanding of executing to Brand to influence a rich user experience for a global market.

•             Be self-motivated and able to make logical decisions to ensure the overall success of the project by creating designs that seamlessly address customer and business concerns and objectives

•             Keep abreast of current design tools, techniques and methodologies

•             Be willing to challenge traditional design thinking and look for new and innovative ways to approach design projects and improve streamline the user experience
