Oracle DB Architect

Location: Raleigh, NC
Length: 6 Months+

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

This position requires a motivated and experienced individual to execute projects in designing, tuning and developing SQL and database functions/procedures for a web application.  The successful candidate will: 

• Collaborate with technical management and in a cross-functional team including software and database architects, product managers, developers, testers and database administrators in a dynamic Agile environment
• Build and own a data model that is optimized for Oracle with the Teradata database architects
• Generate Oracle DDL scripts to create databases, tables, and views for the Oracle data model
• Develop a parallel SQL repository that is optimized for Oracle based upon existing optimized Teradata SQL
• Work with software architects to implement feature functionality that is optimized for Oracle

 Skills & Attributes:

 In depth knowledge of the Oracle Database

• Advanced performance tuning skills in PL/SQL are essential
• Exposure to large databases that exceed 1TB in size
• Experience working with Relational DBMS and associated applications
• In depth knowledge of one or more data modeling tools like ERWin
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Teamwork, innovative thinking, and initiative
• Strong communication skilld

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of Oracle Database experience required
• 5+ years of experience in PLSQL/SQL and advanced data modeling

 Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Solid Oracle and PL/SQL skills
• Data profiling for large database
• Data modeling skills
• Knowledge of Teradata
