Senior Java Developer

Job Description

As Senior Java Developer, you'll be working with core Java technologies to design, build and maintain different components / subsystems. The Senior Java Developer will serve as individual contributor on the business requirements for these systems. You will participate in every stage of the project lifecycle -- gather requirements, design, develop and test. A wide degree of knowledge, creativity and efficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key contributor for implementation of initiatives related to Open Source systems.
• Assess feasibility and ramifications of new business requirements. Design appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when necessary.
• Provide necessary support of the open source systems. Respond quickly to critical requests and participate in processes troubleshooting / investigations.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience designing and building systems for high traffic and transaction volumes
• Very strong Core Java knowledge – considered an Expert in Java
• Extensive experience in development of multi-tiered web applications on open source platforms utilizing Java/J2EE, XML, SQL, AJAX, REST, SOAP, ESB, AOP, SOA, JavaScript, HTML and other related technologies and concepts
• You will be working on Linux/Mac OS (non Windows) systems as your development environment and hence should be comfortable with these environments
• Ability to work with business users, product managers, QA, Release, UI and Platform Engineering teams to develop e-commerce applications
• Excellent communications skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Catalog, Content and Order Management Systems.
• Knowledge of any other programming languages (other than Java) is a definite plus
