  Job Description

Day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

- Racking and stacking various server and network hardware

- Running and labeling copper and fiber cabling

- Shipping, receiving, and tracking datacenter assets

- Provisioning Operating Systems via PXE Boot and HP Server Automation

- Performing hardware break/fix on HP and IBM hardware (Memory, CPU, Power Supplies and Drives)

- Performing routine walkthroughs of the datacenter and tracking issues using a ticketing system

- Respond to internal customer tickets for problem resolutions Required Skills Experience with racking, troubleshooting, and maintenance (firmware and hardware) of the following platforms:

HP:

- HP Proliant DL3xxG5 & G7

- HP Proliant DL5xxG5 & G7

- HP Proliant BL4xxc G1, G7, and G8

- HP Proliant c7000 Enclosures

IBM:

- IBM x3000 X5 Series Servers

- IBM HS & HX Series Blades

- IBM BladeCenter Enclosures

Network Hardware:

- Juniper MX Series Routers

- Juniper EX Series Switches

- Brocade (Formerly Foundry) FastIron Switches

- Voltaire Infiniband Switches

- EMC Fiber Channel Switches (Various)

- Brocade Fiber Channel Switches (Various) Experience with the following Operating Systems:

- Windows 2003 and 2008 Server

Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5

Experience with the following management tools and monitoring systems:

- HP iLO (v2, v3, v4)

- IBM IMM/AMM

- IBM Systems Director

- HP Server Automation (OS Provisioning and Software Installation)

- Zenoss Monitoring Platform

- HP Network Automation

- HP Systems Insight Manager

Experience of the following network protocols:

- HTTP/HTTPS

- DNS

- TCP/IP

- NTP

- ICMP

- SSH

DHCP

- SNMP

Understanding of RAID technologies

Ability to lift 50lbs

Experience with the following cable technologies:

- Cat6 & Cat6a (TIA-568A/B)

- Multi-mode fiber (LC and SC)

- Single-mode fiber (LC and SC)

Minimum of 3 years experience in an enterprise datacenter
