We have below urgent requirement for Windows System Administrator
with our direct client in Richmond, VA. Please let me know if you are
having anyone available with required skills.
Title: Windows System Administrator
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6-9+ Months
Requirement Details:

Windows Administrator with experience in migration/upgrade to higher
versions, conceptual knowledge of Windows 7, thorough in Windows
2000,2003 on Servers and Workstations. Been part of consolidation or
migration projects. Excellent in communications (Written & Verbal)
• Regular application installations, configurations, and day-to-day
administration.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise.
• Staying familiar with new versions of applications used on servers.
• Working with and troubleshooting all of the following, including,
but not limited to: SMTP, SNMP, SNTP, POP, FTP, SSL, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS,
telnet, SFTP, DNS, RDP, TCP, ICMP, and UDP.
• Use knowledge of each of the above listed technologies as related to
the issue at hand.
• Work with basic applications and their ports: backup, MSSQL, MySQL.
• Work with permissions in Microsoft Server 2003.
Required Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English
language.
• 4+ years of Microsoft Windows Server administration.
• Willing and able to cover other shifts if needed.
• Dependable to be at work during assigned shifts and to complete work
as expected.
• Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changed
environment and follow instructions from supervisors and senior
colleagues.
• Experience with documenting procedures.
• Experience with a web hosting control panel.
• Should able to Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure
hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Install and configure systems such as supports GIS infrastructure
applications or Asset Management applications.
• Maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Experience with Windows 7 will be an advantage but not mandatory.
• Research and recommend innovative and where possible automated
approaches for system administration tasks.
