Server Automation Analyst Description

The server automation analyst works with clients and server administrators to develop monitoring management packs, automation scripts and "runbooks" for our cross platform server environment with over 8000 clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Create and Publish Monitoring Management Packs based on Client and Corporate requirements.

2. Consult with Clients & Business Unit representatives on application monitoring and automation needs.

3. Assists in the maintenance and support of department systems and tools 

4. Provides informal instruction and support to other support organizations in the area of systems monitoring

5. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements: 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with Microsoft System Center Suite

• Experience with Windows Server Operating System

• Prior scripting experience (i.e. Perl, VBScript, Powershell)

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• High degree of skill in the use of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, including support of the environment, and creation and support of custom management packs

• Experience / Knowledge with ITSM tools (Examples - Remedy, HPSM, CA)

• Experience / Knowledge with Linux Operating System

• Experience / Knowledge with SAP

• Experience / Knowledge with SQL

• Experience / Knowledge with VMWare

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

• Ability to provide technical advice, guidance, and support to professional staff in area of specialty. 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: 

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 

• No or limited physical effort required. 

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
