EDI/HIPAA Consultant

Location: Camphill, PA

Duration: 1 year

$6500/ month

 

Required Skills: 

Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' experience

3 - 5 years' experience with advanced knowledge of EDI standards, ASC X12 standards. Experience in 834 and 820 transaction sets is a must.

Clear understanding & working knowledge of HIPAA EDI protocols.

Able to generate HIPAA transactions using mapping application tool and data

Ability to conduct research into EDI issues and products as required

Experience using Oracle Healthcare Adapters

Oracle SOA knowledge will be helpful.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze, design, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and support EDI formats that include HIPAA standard formats such as 820 and 834 and other proprietary formats using EDI mapping tools. (837, 835, 834, 270, 271, 276, 277, 278)

Apply in-depth knowledge of systems and business to the development of technical design for large complex processes and projects.

Evaluate user requests for new and modifications to applications/programs/processes/maps.

Develops EDI mapping specifications and documentation about process flow of all EDI processes.

Implement new and update existing Companion Guides and Trading Partner   Agreements

Communicate with partners, software vendors, and internal teams and help to identify  technical issues related to EDI

At the request of end users or management, research questions involving EDI applications and how the data is organized and populated, review electronic data received from providers/vendors to ensure presence and  accuracy of critical data elements

Perform Code Testing, Migration and Validation per SDLC standards.

Configure Service and Adapters to perform EDI related operations

Web Services Interface Development with Java and J2EE applications.
