Title: Salesforce Technical Architect
Location: Boston, MA

Required Skills: Must have SFDC elite ‘Technical Architect’ certification and able to Deploy SFDC Sales and Account Management functionality to client’s global organization
1. Expected Contributions:
-Architect & Code—guide team to independent coding/architecture. The client wants someone with deep APEX and VF development experience (e.g., 5+ years), the resource should also have robust experience as a technical architect / tech lead on similarly complex projects
-Identify best practices for development, deployment, change management.
2. General Experience:
-Number of years - 10+
-Technical complexity of projects - Need to be able to speak to deep experience on Enterprise SFDC implementations
3. Security Modeling:
-Experience, including global rollouts.
-Challenges faced and solutions to tackle those challenges
-Specific examples of how security was implemented
-Identifying a strategy for security model
-Active Directory integration/Single Sign-on
-Mobile security
4. Data Modeling:
-Complex data modeling experience
-Iterative vs. Waterfall experience
5. Development/Integration:
-Custom development/integrations experience and level of complexity See comment above re: APEX and VF experience
-Integration with internal applications behind the firewall - We need someone deep with very integration experience
-Traversing the DMZ Related to above. The client probed very deep here in interviews
-Real-time/near-real-time integrations
-Experience with governor limits
-Experience installing/managing custom third-party apps.
-Custom controllers experience
-Performance issues and solutions to get around them
-Web-services experience (WSDL)
-Rich UI development using Javascript/JQuery - The client questioned our depth here as well for the folks we put in front of them
-Debugging tools
-Mobile development
-Outlook integration
-Bulk data loads—tools used
6. Release Management: They want to use a 3rd party solution, we need someone with experience using 3rd party code version control tools with SFDC.
-Approaches for migrating code and build scripts.
-Strategies for integrating code releases into client-specific deployment model
-Deploying business controlled configuration changes to Production.
-Versioning of business controlled configuration changes.
7. Data Migration:
-Experience with data conversion into SF
-Tools used?
-Merging different ONYX/other source data with overlapping data into one SF instance
-Recommended roll-out strategy (big-bang vs. phased)
-If phased roll-out, how does data stay in synch
-Migrating attachments/blobs
-Experience using SF ID’s/keys as a link to other systems.
8. Configuration:
-Guiding principles for business changes against the database model
9. Workflow Creation:
-Identifying who should be responsible (business vs. IT)
-Experience where workflow requires a combination of declarative and APEX coding.
