The Product Specialist is the expert for a technical development or execution environment product or set of products.

The Senior Oracle DBA perform the following duties:

-          Assessment of database architecture with recommended strategies, refinements, modifications, and support according to industry standards.

-          Assessment and recommendation of Oracle database environments for upgrades and maintenance plans.

-          Assist in upgrading the 9i and 10g Oracle databases to 11g.

-          Recommendations for updates to the detailed design specifications for storage and network configurations required to support several database environments

-          Assist in installation/upgrade, mentoring and configuration of Oracle Database 11gR2, Real Application Cluster Software, Active Data Guard and Advanced Compression for several applications

-          Provide non-production and production support and assist in trouble shooting production issues and application performance issues..

-          Review and assess the backup and recovery strategy currently implement for production and non-production databases and come up with recommendation and assist in implementing the recommendations.

-          Work with development team and assisting in tuning applications for better performance which includes database SQL tuning.

-          Assist ODJFS IT Staff in documenting all database environments and any other tasks assigned as needed based on project needs.

At least  9 years experience in the tools listed below:

o   Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite

o   Grid Control tool

o   TOAD Tool/any other comparable tool

o   Must be able to use Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft office tool suite

exp in setting up/building and configuring Oracle RAC (version 9.x, 10.x, 11gR1/R2) out of which 2 years on 11gR1/R2. Required 6 Years
exp using full functionality of RMAN backup utility (full & incremental back ups, cloning, restore/recovery) of which 2 yrs w/RMAN utility w/11gR1/R2 Required 8 Years
exp using/setup & configuring of physical standby/logical database/data guard Required 4 Years
exp in DB performance tuning and application SQL tuning of which 3yrs in Oracle RAC environment (version 10g, 11gR1/R2 Required 8 Years
exp is using Oracle ASM out of which at 4 years of experience in RAC environment with version 10g/11gR1, R2. Required 6 Years
exp and knowledge in supporting applications system development life cycle. Required 7 Years
exp in performing database upgrade/patches (10g to 11g/R2) of which 3yrs in Oracle 10g or 11g/R2 RAC (primarily in place upgrade/patches updates Required 7 Years
exp in data modeling and application database design Required 3 Years
exp in writing PL/SQL code Required 3 Years
exp writing scripts in AIX operating system environment (UNIX /Shell). Required 6 Years
exp working within an AIX 5.x/6.x operating system environment or higher Required 5 Years
exp with Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite Required 9 Years
exp with Grid Control tool Required 9 Years
exp with TOAD Tool/any other comparable tool Required 9 Years

exp in Active Data Guard (ADG) and data guard broker out of which at least 6 months of experience in using with 11gR1/R2. Required 1 Years
exp in using snapshot cloning technology using XIV storage with Oracle RAC (version 10g/11GR2) based database is desired Desired 1 Years
