VMWare Administrator
Location:Menands, NY
Duration:24 Months
Rate is $65.77 per hour on c2c MAX
Please note that our client does allow Skype/remote interviews. However they reserve the right to require an in-person interview.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with designing and creating multi-tenant GGC virtualization platform
Assist with developing strategy, schedule, and work breakdown structures for Windows server consolidation, centralization and virtualization, and upgrade to Windows Server 2012
Perform tasks to centralize and virtualize WCB's physical Windows servers
Develop strategy and plans for and perform tasks to decommission remote and centrally located physical servers that have been virtualized
Assist with perform tasks to upgrade WCB Windows server to Version 2012
Assist with developing strategy, schedule, and work breakdown structures for migrating data storage and backup processes including tape backup processes to shared GGC Avamar, Atmos, Data Domain and VPlex technologies
Make recommendations for changes to network infrastructure to support IaaS projects and coordinate with GGC Networking and Communications staff to ensure approved network upgrades and tasks are completed
Create repeatable process to be used for consolidating and merging separate agency-based infrastructures in the GGC into the shared environment
Perform tasks to migrate data storage and backup processes to shared GGC storage infrastructure
Develop strategy and plans for and perform tasks to decommission storage and backup hardware and processes that have been migrated to the shared GGC infrastructure
Experience in a lead role as a design architect planning and implementing multi-tenant enterprise technical infrastructures including solutions that integrate server, storage, and backup architectures, of which at least 24 months of that experience must include solutions with a significant VMWare virtualization component.
Experience as a certified Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP):
Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 or as a 2012 Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE):
Server Infrastructure deploying and administering Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or higher in environments of at least 25 production servers.
No credit will be given for a Windows NT, Server 2000, or Server 2003 MCSE..
Experience designing and executing Microsoft server migrations in an environment of at least 25 production servers
Experience working with VMWare VSphere 4.x or greater.
Experience working with EMC Data Domain
Experience working with EMC VPlex
Experience working with EMC Atmos
Experience working with EMC Avamar
