Manager note: Java Developer person will team up with a Sr. Architect, QA Engineer, Business Analyst and a rather good Jr. Developer from the maintenance team. We will be replacing two smaller legacy applications in the E&FP domain (CAISO Energy Markets) with a full client server based application(s).  While the requirements are still in progress, it’s safe to say the system design will include the standard Presentation Tier, Middle Logic Tier and DB Persistence tier in scope, leveraging J2EE using JSF, OOD Patterns and XML base Web Services on our SOA infrastructure. SCRUM Methodology are being considered, however not carved in stone yet.   

 

Qualifications:

 

Candidate should have 8+ years’ experience working with the following technologies: 

 

• Object Oriented Design Patterns, 

• Java/J2EE 

• JSF/JSP 

• JQuery/JDBC 

• Database/schema design using either Oracle, MS SQL Server or Postgres 

• Application deployment in Tomcat on RedHat Linux 

• Hibernate / Spring 

• Web service experience should include knowledge of SOAP, XML, SOA, WSDL, and XSL. 

• Candidate should also be familiar with UML and be able to interpret and create: class, activity, and sequence diagrams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for creating Detailed Design artifacts to satisfy the documented Functional and Technical Requirements. 

The Senior Developer shall be expected to demonstrate mature skills in: Software Coding Standards, Version Control applications such as MKS, Defect Tracking applications such as HP Quality Center and Software Development Lifecycle best practices. 

The Senior Developer shall be responsible for Unit Test plans and Test Reports for the modules they are assigned in addition to Interface and System level test execution activities.
