My Client seeks a strong Java developer who will assume a lead position.  Initially the person will be assigned to a project to learn the clients technology platform, coding techniques and requirements, client process and procedures, implementation of a single state then take all these learnings and lead work in additional states.  The successful analyst will help grow the teams, coach and mentor team members, provide guidance for coding, reviews and quality, and be the development interface with the client. This analyst will potentially be leads on multiple concurrent efforts based on size of effort, team sizes, and timelines.  Responsibilities of the position include: 
 
Application Design
Responsibilities:
- Create designs that satisfy non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, and security
 
- Participates in and delivers architecture direction related artifacts via Statements of Work (SOWs)
 
- Contributes the practice of Application Architecture including all high-level designs (whether part of Business Case Design (BCD) or not)
 
Technical Design
Responsibilities:
- Translates logical application design artifacts from Application Designers into physical technical design artifacts such as System Topologies and Application Distribution Diagrams
 
- Creates designs that facilitate the adoption of the strategic direction for new technologies, architecture, and design patterns
 
- Creates designs that satisfy non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, and security
 
- Participates in and delivers architecture direction related artifacts via Statements of Work (SOWs)
 
- Encourages consistency and attempt to reduce redundancy across physical designs by sharing best practices (both within client and in the insurance industry at large), discussing common problems/concerns, and designing common solutions
 
- Partners with Application Design teams to ensure technical considerations are addressed appropriately and high-level designs are adhered to or modified as appropriate
 
- Engages with design and build projects to assist with new designs and review / approve designs as they are finalized
 
- Acts as technical escalation path for design issues within projects working on products/applications
 
- Identifies architectural work efforts that need to be undertaken to meet business needs or resolve technical issues
 
- Partners with application/component service support teams on activities across the lifecycle (planning, quality expectations and governance, development status/issues, implementation, production issues, feedback into future plans)
 
- Consults and partner with Mainframe Systems Analysts (SA), Web SAs, Application Subject Matter Experts (SME), other Development Centers (DC) on target Architecture and integration points across DCs
