We have a requirement with our direct client for a Unix System Administrator
Position: Unix System Administrator
Duration: 9 months
Location: Augusta, ME
Submission Deadline: 24 Jan
This position is needed to support the project work within the Unix system team. It will support the project like the Oracle ULA, where agencies need to move from various Oracle environments to a Linux base Oracle hosting environment for both database and middleware. This individual will also work on break fixes, security hardening and patching of the entire Unix hosting environment. The projects listed have distinct deadlines. Part of the work will be to retire some legacy IBM server equipment and move applications onto Linux Dell servers. All work is over and above existing baseline operational work. All work is complex taking significant planning skills and project monitoring to assure successful project completion.
Required Skills:
· Unix Solaris & Linux Installations
· Security lock down of Unix Servers
· Troubleshooting & performance tuning & break fixes of Unix Systems
· Patching and regular maintenance of Unix servers
· Team assignment & project support work of Unix servers
· Solaris 10/11
· Red Hat Linux 5/6
