1605       Genentech/Roche          Firewall Engineer            

Initial onsite, possibility of 30% remote thereafter.

Enterprise class Firewalls (any 2 of the Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Dell SonicWall), URL Filtering (Bluecoat), FireEye MPS, Juniper SSL VPN appliances and SourceFire IDS/IPS.

 

• 8+ years of experience in Network Security on a hands-on engineering capacity.

• Work with Network Security Engineers and provide technical subject matter expertise to ensure consistency in configuration of our Network Security Infrastructure (technologies listed above)across different geographic locations.

• Co-ordinate technical implementation and troubleshooting.

• Manage, maintain, and configure Firewalls, URL Filtering devices, Malware Protection systems, IDP/IDS devices and Logging Systems.

• Expert level knowledge in multi-tier DMZ and VPN solution architecture required

• Expert level knowledge in RADIUS, SNMP, Juniper devices and Wireless infrastructure architecture is desired.

• Work with Engineering and Operations resources located globally across EMEA and North America and Latin America (and in some cases APAC)

• Must possess the ability to lead and participate in technical sessions and with next-level managers.

Firewall Engineer

Initial onsite, possibility of 30% remote thereafter.

The Job description is Enterprise class "firewall" and has experience in at least 2 of Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Dell SonicWall  .

• 6+ years of experience in Firewalls

• Review, Analyze and Document current firewall configuration

• Prepare the migration  from current firewall technologies to the new firewall standard(s) using automated (and where needed manual) scripts

• Prepare Test Plan and Test cases that encompass the functional testing on the new firewalls, migration steps including focus on maintaining the availability of services during the migration.

• Execute testing in the new firewall in a test environment

• Work with the Engineering and Operations team to ensure that the migration plan is fool-proof, provide subject matter expertise on the firewalls and act as the hands-on expert during the migration.

• Produce all "Qualification" documentation for the Firewall environments

• Execute the migration in production environment ensuring minimal customer impact and application downtime

• Ensure interoperability with other Network Security and Network components remains intact.

• Monitor for any post-production issues and fix issues as they arise in a hyper-care mode.

• Work with Engineering and Operations resources located globally across EMEA and North America and Latin America (and in some cases APAC)

• Must possess the ability to lead and participate in technical sessions and with next-level managers.

This person is an "Engineering" resource in a "staff augmentation" mode and also help out the less experienced Engineers/personnel in the team with the Firewall migration to a new standard
