Description:

The Network Engineer will have overall responsibility for maintaining network systems and services, ensuring service levels are sustained, including servers, SANs, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, network traffic, other IP devices, as well as all critical applications by installing, upgrading, configuring and troubleshooting as required. This position reports to the Manager of Network & Server Operations.

Job responsibilities

• Manage networking systems projects including server installations, SAN / NAS modifications and upgrades, data circuit installations, router / firewall / switch / network accelerator installations.
• Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
• Ensure integrity of all corporate data residing on network servers, including the monitoring and reporting of systems security policies, anti-virus /spam systems, and data backups. 
• Research, evaluate and recommend network related tools and emerging network technologies
• Create and update documentation, including network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
• Perform after hours support duties to sustain networking systems and service levels – 24/7/365.
• Perform periodic maintenance and environment upgrades
• Act as a contact person for outside vendors during installation, rearrangement, repair and/or removal of equipment or services.

Position requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of experience with Windows system administration.
• 3-5 years of experience with VMware vSphere administration.
• Experience in the following required: Microsoft servers, VMware vSphere servers, server backups and data archiving, Cisco routers & switches, voice/data communications, network architecture and network services such as AD, DNS, DHCP, file & print, applications, MS Exchange administration, MS SharePoint administration, systems security, anti-virus software configuration and maintenance, SAN configuration and maintenance, SQL database configuration and maintenance, network monitoring and alerting, firewall configuration and maintenance, network protocol traffic management.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problems solving skills required.
• A proven professional with excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation and time management skills.
• MCSE, CCNA preferred.
• Office 365, MS SQL, Citrix Server, Dell/EMC SAN experience preferred.
