Job Description:

Power BI Developer (contract)

The Power BI Developer will develop analytic models to power thoughtful data visualization that deliver insights on our customers and power consumer personalization and engagement.

Azure

SQL

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain BI semantic models to power self-service and data discovery for marketing and business users.

Develop tabular and multi-dimensional models.

Design and implement complex business visualizations, dashboards, and reports to deliver consumer insights.

Develop complex queries, views, and stored procedures to support BI visualizations.

Assist other team members with SQL queries necessary to extract, transform, or load data as part of integration and analysis development.

Iteratively deliver business intelligence solutions as part of a collaborative Agile team made up of members from several data and analytics disciplines.

Provide production support and solve complex business intelligence challenges.

Work closely with the team to ensure architectural standards are followed as it relates to business intelligence design and best practices.

Ensure that work submitted has been tested either by means of unit tests or developer integration tests.

Collaborate with business stakeholders in relation to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Quality Assurance for functional testing.

Provide leadership and technical guidance related to business intelligence including SQL Azure, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI

Work with the team to architect, design, and develop quality business intelligence deliverables.

Communicate the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to all stakeholders.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information System, Data Science, or similar discipline.

3+ years of proven experience building and operating business intelligence solutions for consumer or retail analysis.

Demonstrated ability to design meaningful and immersive visualizations, dashboards, and reports that drive business insights using Power BI Pro and Premium.

Proven experience developing and operating BI semantic models including

OLAP capabilities using Microsoft Analysis Services.

Familiarity with Tabular data models and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).

Knowledgeable in querying data stored using a broad range of data modeling

techniques including third normal form, dimensional, and data vault modeling on

Microsoft SQL Server-based technologies.

Ability to concisely document data processes that can be readily understood

and applied by both IT leadership and developers.

Experience in working as part of an Agile SCRUM team responsible for iteratively

delivering business outcomes.

Willingness to be part of the 24/7 on-call rotation to support the consumer data

platform.

Restaurant and/or consumer technology experience preferred.

Microsoft Azure data technologies experience in Azure SQL Data Warehouse,

SQL Azure, and Azure Analysis Services strongly preferred.
