Public Description: Telecommunications Engineer

Atlanta, GA

Direct Hire

 

The Telecommunications Engineer will support the organization's installation, configuration and day-to-day tasks associated with ensuring efficient operation.  They will analyze business and technical requirements, application issues, determine impact on applications and interfacing systems and propose appropriate solutions.  The application scope includes existing applications/systems, third party and in-house applications. The Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of switch technicians, installation, and inside technician teams.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for systems management, developing systems and upgrades, ensuring technology systems provide on-going support, managing and recommending Telecommunications and system support.

Responsible for developing and managing Information Systems security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development.

Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of Telecommunications infrastructure components.

Troubleshoots Telecommunications performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.

Monitor and adjust the performance of existing Telecommunications and continually survey the current computer site to determine future network needs.

Maintains Telecommunications hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor networks to ensure maximum availability to system users.

Oversees system backups and recovery operations.

Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure Telecommunications, Wireless, and Cable TV products and services.

Provide Technical support and guidance to junior engineers, surveillance engineers and Field Operations.  Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.

Provide technical assistance to personnel engaged in operation and maintenance of microwave systems.

Building out and managing 4G wireless network.

Managing outside and inside Technical employees.

 

Requirements:

Requires an Engineering Bachelor's degree

Minimum of 3-5 years of telecommunications experience

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time and consistently achieve results on a timely basis.
