Position: CAD Engineer
Location: Boston, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Applications Consultants have expertise in a specific technology environment. They are responsible for software-specific design and realization, as well as testing, deployment and release management, or technical and functional application management of client-specific package based solutions (e.g. SAP, ORACLE). These roles also require functional and methodological capabilities in testing and training. 

Required Skills and Experience: 

You are an expert in one or more business processes and technology practices and are accountable for translating a business case into a detailed technical design. Alternatively, you are responsible for operational and technical issues and translate technical blueprints into requirements and specifications. You may also be responsible for integration testing and user acceptance testing. You act as a stream lead, guiding team members by experience. You are seen as active member within technology communities. 

• Qualification: Minimum 5 years experience, Bachelor's Degree. 
• Certification: SE level 1 and seeking level 2. 
• Must have experience in Package Configuration. 
• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Testing, Architecture Knowledge, Technical Solution Design and Vendor Management. 

Role: Development Engineer (Motor Control, Algorithms, PID tuning)-Medical Device 
Experience Band: 6+ years of mechanical and or systems engineering experience required with a BS degree. 

Job Description 
• Responsible for the design, implementation, testing, support and change control of arthroscopic mechanical resection products. 
• Design and prototype solutions for use in mechanical resection products to meet customer needs, manufacturability, cost, quality, reliability, effectiveness and ergonomics. 
• Seeks new technologies for integration into new products. Assist in new product planning. 
• Provides technical support to other groups as required to bring a product successfully through commercialization, helps maintain existing products and supports vendor technical requirements. 
• Discloses inventions for patent application and supports their prosecution and defense. 
• Perform design control functions, including setting up and maintaining infrastructure to manage changes, to ensure compliance with FDA and ISO guidelines. 

Education: 
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required. MS in engineering or science or related field with 3+ years related experience. PHD in engineering, science or in a related field with 1+ years experience. 

Requirements: 
• Experience with motion control and DC motor applications 
• Strong engineering aptitude, including statics and dynamics, strength of materials, physics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and probability and statistics. 
• Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM). 
• Understanding of common machining and manufacturing methods 
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME dimensioning and tolerancing methods. 
• 
General knowledge and familiarity with the following is a plus 
• Experience with FDA Good Manufacturing Practice, UL Safety Standards, and EMI/EMC Standards. 
• Experience with design controls, preferably in the medical device industry. 


• Familiarity with MiniTab 
• Experience with PLM tools, e.g., SAP 
• Experience with compliance and standards, e.g., IEC60601-1, IEC 62366. 
• One or more programming languages 
• 
General Requirements: 
• Experience with productivity tools, Microsoft Office, etc. 
• Good analytic ability for problem solving. 
• Ability to work under minimal direction. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as part of a cross functional team. 
• Preparation of written design, specification, and verification documents. 
• Good organizational skill using computerized or paper filing system. 
• Ability to work closely with customer service and end users to support products.
