We are looking for a Senior Python Cloud Developer responsible for developing inside a microservice architecture. Your primary focus will be the development of server-side and tasking logic, ensuring high availability and scalable throughput to the unique, geospatially-enabled services we provide. You will also be responsible for integrating existing, traditional infrastructure built by your co-workers into the application. Responsibilities: • Work in a fast-paced, agile development team • Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code • Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant microservices • Implementation of security and data protection following modern standards and techniques • Integration of data storage solutions including databases, key-value stores and blob storage.
• Expose client-facing and internal RESTful interfaces for modules and services Skills and Qualifications
• Experience in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework such as FastAPI or Flask
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, especially the PostGIS extension
• Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into relational and key-value stores
• Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process asynchronous architecture
• Understanding of security compliance and data segregation
• Knowledge of user authentication and secrets management between multiple systems, servers, and environments especially utilizing Vault by Hashicorp with GCP
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Able to create data schemas that represent and support business processes
• Strong unit test and debugging skills
• Proficient understanding of versioning and releases with Git in a Jira+Bitbucket environment
• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, system development, or other related fields
