ROLE: Release Engineer

 

We do have an immediate req for Release Engineer at Columbus Ohio.

Duration                        : 6 Months+



The Release Management Engineer will possess advanced knowledge of software quality concepts. In addition, this individual will lead the development of Release Management (RM) processes. Furthermore, this individual will work in collaboration with application development, application support and Quality Control (QC) to ensure the quality of: the RM process and its execution; improving the process to provide repeatable processes and mentoring Release Management Analysts’ activities. They will also educate teams on the proper execution of the RM processes.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of RM processes.
2. Ensure that RM processes support build and deployments for the assigned projects and applications.
3. Maintain deployment and build schedules across projects and applications.
4. Continuous enhancement of the RM process to support required business needs.
5. Facilitate RM Process Meetings.
6. Design/lead process automation.
7. Facilitate communication of RM process changes to appropriate groups.
8. Estimating RM effort at the program level.
9. Facilitating audit requests.
10. Other duties and responsibilities as required.


III. Position Requirements:

Education or Equivalent: Minimum required to perform job.
• BS in Computer Science, Business or related job experience.

Experience or Equivalent: Minimum required to perform job.
• 5+ years of diverse experience in applying software change practices in large, multi-platform environment organizations. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing software and hardware configuration management functions. Experience in leading a team in performing program-based as well as ongoing operational responsibilities. Proven ability to develop a team. Innovative and strategic thinking required, as well as a track record of success implementing solutions that result in measurable business benefits.
• 3+ years of diverse experience in release management practices in large, multi-platform environment organizations. Manages multiple project schedules, coordinates and/or mitigates potential software or hardware project conflicts within the organization.
• 3+ years experience with IBM Rational Tool Suite.
