Job Description:
· Our client is seeking remarkable talent to join their team.
· The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of components for building message processing solutions that utilize business rules and workflows to validate, decision, and update message content.
· Performance tuning and design of concurrent processors are critical skills to ensure components can effectively handle large volumes of data.
· An ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of design patterns, and is able to create examples and document strategies and best practices for other internal engineers and external customer use.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Take ownership of Business Rules Components and Business Object Model.
· Translate business and functional specifications into detailed component designs.
· Provides work estimates, tracks progress, and reports team status, issues, and risks.
· Use test-driven development to implement Enterprise Integration Components.
· Maintain component JavaDoc and reference documentation.
· Creates example code, configurations, and rules for internal team and external customer use.
· Resolve component defects and use a debugger to trace code execution issues.
· Prepare effective written communication on project status, issues, and requirements.
· Researches and analyzes new technologies and frameworks.
· Provide leadership and guidance to associate and mid-level engineers.
Required Skill Set:
· BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum 8 years object-oriented software design and implementation.
· Experience working with BRMS solutions such as JBoss Drools, ILog JRules, or similar platform.
· Proficiency in Java 1.5+ and Spring Framework 2.5+.
· Proficiency using test-driven development approach using JUnit.
· Proficiency in concurrent design and thread-safe coding techniques.
· Experience using XML and related technologies, including XSD, JAXB, JIBX, XSLT, StAX.
· Experience developing and configuring integration components with Apache Camel, ServiceMix, or similar ESB, EAI, or ETL platforms is plus.
· Experience developing SOAP and RESTful Web Services using CXF, Metro, JAX-WS, JAX-RS is plus.
· Experience with JMS providers, ActiveMQ, WebSphere MQ, BEA Weblogic, etc is plus.
· Experience with database with Oracle, MS SQL, DB/2 using Hibernate, JDO, JPA, or JDBC is plus.
· Knowledge of OSGi development using Apache Felix, Eclipse Equinox, Spring-DM is plus.
· Knowledge of Eclipse Plugin development is plus.
· Knowledge of Continuous integration using Eclipse, Maven, SVN, Continuum, and Archiva.
· Experienced with full lifecycle software development lifecycle processes and methodologies.
· Desire to learn and quickly develop proficiencies in new technologies and frameworks.
· Solid written and oral communication skills.
