Job Objective:

Responsible for general server administration, organizing and supporting a company's computer systems and taking care of deployments.

Job Tasks:

- Participate in the design of the infrastructure of applications and the environments in which they run.

- Install and configure production and development servers

- Support the development progression of the company.

- Monitor resources and take preventative action to ensure the stability of the system.

- Develop and implement a change management and deployment management system.

- Occasional interaction with partners in a support role.

- Occasional remote work will be required if urgently required.

 

Should Have Requirements:

- Linux experience is essential.

- Bash scripting knowledge.

- Nginx configuration is required.

- Understanding of networking, IP addressing.

- Support for daily operations and development.

- Experience moving and managing Large data objects.

- Must have understanding of:

1.       Ubuntu Linux 12.04

2.       Networking (scalable networks)

3.       Managing Ruby, Java environments and applications

4.       Monitoring Tools (e.g. New Relic or Nagios)

5.       Scripting Languages (bash shell scripting)

 

Nice to have:

- Experience designing networks.

- Experience with SAN or NFS resources.

- Experience with databases.

- Network security certifications or experience.

- Perl or PHP or Ruby or Python or any sort of script based programming language.

- Configuration management tool (e.g. Ansible, Chef or equivalent)
