Job description: DevOps Engineer/Architect
Duration: 18 Months
Location: St. Louis, MO
Rate: $57/hr on C2C
Devops Engineers play a key role in delivering applications. Engineers partner with application teams to help them ship their code quickly and reliably. This includes development, management, and on boarding applications to a CI/CD pipeline.
Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years' experience as a Build and Release engineer, DevOps engineer, or in a similar technology role
- Extensive experience with DevOps, Release Management and delivery of software to production with high quality.
- Installing, maintaining, and administering software on Linux servers
- Automation Experience with Build/Deployment, Software Configuration/Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Release Engineering related tasks in Java/C++ Environments.
- Experience in automating manual processes using Python, Ruby, bash, perl, etc.
- Installing, Configuring, Administering, and Tuning of JavaEE Application Servers, and WebServers.
- Deploying and automating JavaEE applications in cloud environment using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Rundeck, RPM, etc.
- Hands on experience Configuring and Administering SCM(GIT, SVN), Build (CMake, Make files, Maven), Nexus, CI(Jenkins), CD Automation Tools.
- Strong understanding of software project release automation.
- Experience in Implementation of Application Tier with Tomcat.
- Design/Implementation of network and presentation tier technologies, including F5, Apache, Nginx, etc.

- Demonstrated ability to execute
- Understanding of basic network concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision in a small, focused team
- Inherent curiosity and ability to learn new technologies, plus the ability to figure out the best tools for a given problem.
- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Agile Methodologies and processes.
- Installing, maintaining, and administering software on Windows servers
- Experience with PowerShell and Octopus Deploy
- Experience with continuous-delivery concepts like blue-green deploy and canary deploy
- Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization Technologies (Hyper-V, OpenStack).
- Experience in Performance Testing/Tuning/Monitoring, maximizing system uptime and availability, ensuring functional and performance SLAs.
