Job Description:

Responsible for implementation and enhancements of Oracle BI applications. Design Star Schema for Custom subject areas, implement the custom BI Apps modules using Informatica 8.6.   Work with BSAs and other developers to ensure successful development of reports using BI Answers, OBIEE Analytics that meet our customer's needs.

 

Major responsibilities:

Domain Knowledge

·         Work as a Sr. team member in the areas of BI Analytics, OBIEE, Enterprise Reporting and Data Warehousing, areas with a thorough understanding of Oracle Technologies, Data Modeling, RPD, Star Schema design and Oracle Applications Architecture.

·         Provide expertise in terms of customization and support for day to day requirements.

·         Actively engage in activities like data modelling, including multi-dimensional modelling, ETL and metadata development.

·         Design complex reports (pivot tables, drill-downs, report navigation, complex formulas etc.

·         Conduct Analysis, Design and Development in OBIEE 11g/12c with related Informatica, ODI and DAC components.

 

Project Implementation

·         Translate user requirements into technical solutions.

·         Design and develop metadata model to meet user analytic requirements.

·         Design of data warehouse tables, including source to Client mappings.

·         Coordinate activities related to system testing phase and issue resolution.

·         Ensure Project deliverables and conduct User training.

·         Conduct development tasks in Agile or Waterfall life cycle methodologies depending on what's best suitable.

 

Support activities:

·         Data analysis for ad hoc as well as standard reporting, perform business analysis and creating reports using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.

·         Troubleshooting and debugging of defects and production issues in the areas of Informatica, ODI, DAC and OBIEE.

·         Support Quality Assurance testing.

·         Other duties as required to support and meet the needs of the client.

 

Knowledge/Skill requirements

·         Experienced in implementing and supporting an Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) / Oracle Business Intelligence Analytics (OBIA) Data Warehouse for Procurement and Spend, Supply chain and Order Management and Finance (AP/AR/GL), Project Analytics in the role of business analyst / developer. Customer facing position.

·         Understanding of the entire OBIEE application stack.

·         Comfortable working with DAC, ODI and Informatica Powercenter in an OBIEE 11g/12c environment.

·         Be able to support for the Technical DAC and Informatica Powercenter primary resource.

·         Ability to implement the OBIEE 'out of the box' reports and extending those reports in accordance to business needs.

·         Ability to create custom enterprise reports and dashboards.

·         Ability to develop and maintain the OBIEE repository.

·         Ability to determine, develop and document validation plans. This requirement is for data as well as reports.

·         Ability to do OBIEE reporting user training for their Answers and 'My Dashboard'.

·         Ability to drive obtaining OBIEE security requirements as well as guide the users with recommendations. Turn requirements to technical specifications and facilitate development and implementation.

·         Ability to work with the business users and develop domain value mappings and/or modifications.

·         Possess strong skills in working with business areas to document reporting requirements and recommend reporting solutions.

·         Ability to communicate and document clearly requirements, process flows and development specifications. Ability to work within a structured project design and development methodology.

·         Experienced in Oracle database data access / SQL.

·         Key skill on UNIX based operating system to administer Informatica, DAC and OBIEE.

·         Knowledge of Oracle EBS modules.

·         Ability to work with Oracle support in troubleshooting issues with OBIEE data and functionality.

·         Dedication, teamwork, and commitment to quality are essential.

·         A strong customer-oriented focus and desire to achieve results

·         Good written & oral communication and presentation skills in English.

·         Strong decision making and problem solving skills based on strong functional and technical knowledge.

·         Ability to work independently as well as being part of a team.

·         Ability to learn quickly.

 

Education/Experience requirements

·         Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related field.  Experience may be substituted for degree.

·         Work experience in OBIEE or Siebel Analytics.  The experience should include:

·         Experience in Informatica and DAC.

·         At least 1 full cycle implementations in BI Apps 11.x or higher.

·         Experience in AOL, SQL, PL/SQL and TOAD.

·         Experience working with Oracle ERP data source.
