Job Description –  

The client is looking for someone who is steeped in Linux experience; both current and past

While a lot of the candidates have excellent automation skills, there is a preponderance of Wintel / AWS / Azure experience and not a lot of Linux; please ensure future submissions are very Linux centric

 

Here is the list of skills / attributes from the client related to both the SME and Automation roles:

Expertise in Linux OS platform, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Expert level understanding of Linux system administration, troubleshooting and optimization.

Strong proficiency in scripting, especially Bash and Python.

Strong proficiency automation and configuration management such as Ansible, HPSA and Puppet.

Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

Proven ability to design and implement an automated Linux server provisioning process.

Familiar with industry standard security benchmarks, such as CIS and DoD STIGs, and how to enforce them.

Familiar with networking and storage concepts.

Familiar with DevOps concepts and tools, especially CI/CD.

Familiar with best practices for source code management.

Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Proven ability to lead teams of engineers to achieve goals with minimal oversight.
