Primary Job Responsibilities

 

Candidate will oversee one of the Web Development teams for PayPal, responsible for the front-end (XML/XSL) application templates and moving to new jsp based architecture for an international, high availability, high volume web application - PayPal.com. The candidate will work very closely with a cross functional team (User Experience and design, Engineering, QA, Product and Project Management). This position requires leading, mentoring, and growing a geographically dispersed team of managers and web developers, managing their performance and growth, and ensuring that the team's work is of top quality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop a highly motivated technology leadership team
- Directly manage a team of 20+ Team Leads, Developers and Contractors in San Jose, Ca and Chennai, India
- - Work to improve the PDLC (SDLC) processes to ensure that products are delivered with high quality and with a shorter overall time to market
- Manage the strategic planning and scheduling for the team
- Work closely with the Offshore development center

 

Job Requirements

 

The ideal candidate will have experience leading web development teams in a high volume web-based application.

 

The candidate should have 10+ years of experience in software development implementing advanced web user interfaces.

 

 The individual should also have proven leadership skills in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

- Proven record of recruiting and develop high performing technical teams 

 

-         Should hava Good experience in developing web based Java products (Strictly no Applications).

-          

-         Onsite Offshore + Some one who grew from ranks would be a good.
- 2+ years experience managing a web development or software engineering team.
- 8+ years experience with the software development cycle: product specification, design, implementation, qa, release
- Experience in web development, including Web Standards, DHTML, JavaScript and CSS is a big plus
- Experience building advanced and easy to use interfaces for web applications
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people
- Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver in a fast paced multi-project environment
- Experience with Financial Systems such as billing, payment and internationalization experience is a plus.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, or related discipline

 

 requirements

- 2+ years experience of indirectly managing an offshore development team.
