The Sr. Web Developer role provides strategic development tasks for assigned web applications. He/she participates in creation of technical specifications and contributes to project planning activities. This role is responsible for overall implementation of best-in-class web content delivery solutions in Vignette and XSLT. The position involves creating technical specs, project plans, and project management tasks for small to midsize projects. It also includes responsibility for prioritizing maintenance and project tasks across resources allocated to a brand.  The Sr. Web Developer is well versed in all web development technologies used by a brand and performs development tasks.  This role may interact with the delivery team and contribute as a client liaison for various project communications.  The position encompasses both web development and project management tasks, including managing client tasks.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Software Development

· Review functional specifications and create technical specifications with input from the development team

· Ability to communicate with cross-functional development teams

· Perform development tasks in XSLT to support strategic projects

· Implement solutions in XSLT to support bug fixes and enhancements

· Review incoming requests and provide basic analysis of possible solutions

· Utilize and create code for reuse

Quality Assurance

· Work with QA teams to ensure that work products meet desired objectives

· Review and provide test case feedback

 

Education:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

 

Knowledge and Skills:

· XSLT/XSL/XML/XPath experience

· Vignette 5/6 experience

· Understand client server technology, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to interact with individuals on all levels

 

Work Experience:

· 6+ years work experience in web site development

· Experience in working with Content Management Systems

· Experience in creating technical design prior to development

· 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
