Job Title: PM - Microsoft Project Pro & Server 2007 Admin
Location: Richmond, VA (Locals are highly preferred)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: DOE
Job Description:
- This position will provide subject matter expertise, coordinate and perform the in the implementation, configuration and support of the Microsoft Professional and Project Server 2007.
- Provide custom design, configuration, training, mentoring and facilitation of the MS Project 2007 Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution.
- Work with stakeholders to define and refine vision and requirements for Project Server Implementation.
- Define Enterprise Custom fields for projects, resources, and tasks.
- Define appropriate roles and responsibilities, and map them to Project Server users (PM, BA, Developer, Tester, etc*).
- Develop model project schedule templates for various project sizes and types.
- Load project and time data from existing software version and projects.
- Review and assist with the design and architecture of Project Server farms and services.
- Train IT resources on the proper use of Project Professional and Project Server.
- Develop Project Workspace Templates with Sites, Document Libraries, Lists, Workflows and other SharePoint objects.
- Install and configure Project Server Bridge to Oracle ProSight Portfolio Management software.
- Apply effective governance and evolve the governance framework.
Responsibilities:
- Provide functional and system administrative support for the MS Project Professional and Project Server 2007 environment and serve as the subject matter expert for these tools.
- Develop appropriate reporting views, templates and other tools needed to ensure visibility to project information contained in the EPM database
- Take proactive or corrective actions as necessary while monitoring and maintaining the MS Project Professional and Project Server 2007 environment
- Provide MS Project Professional and Project Server 2007 end user training to individuals throughout the IT Division.
- Collaborate with project managers to create and maintain enterprise project work schedules; ensure the proper use of MS Project, adherence to standards, and maintenance of their project schedules.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years experience with MS Project Professional and Project Server 2007/2003 Administration and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of MS Project Server and experience implementing, configuring, customizing and administering the application.
- Minimum 2 years as a trainer in the MS Project Professional and Project Server 2007/2003 environment.
- Experience in the use of MS Project Web Access.
- Relevant, practical project management experience and training with a PMI focus.
- Demonstrated Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management domain knowledge.
- Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database management system.
- MS SQL Reporting Services (SSRS); Crystal Reports and Business Objects.
- Experience with MS Project Portfolio Analyzer and OLAP Cubes.
- Evidence of strong communications skills, ability to build solid working relationships, influence over direction.
- Experience as a Trainer, Mentor & Facilitator.
- Previous experience migrating Project Server versions a plus.
- 2-5+ years experience as a technical consultant a plus.
- MOSS 2007 / WSS 2.0 - 3.0 and its customization a plus.
Education/OR Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a four year college or university; or 4 - 5 yrs experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
