Long-term contract: somebody who is very strong in the world of data management: expert Shell (BASH), PHP, Oracle, Unix with DBA background

 

Location: NYC

Rate: Open (best rate)

Need excellent comm skills

 

Manager wants someone with a background in massive data imports/exports, a trained DBA, and a master software developer (with a degree) that developed in many languages. Candidate will  work with raw log files parsing and storing them into an oracle data base.

Able to load a lot of data, parse it, and store it in an Oracle database. Has to have very strong SQL (SQL Certification is a plus)

 

Whoever we hire has to have at a minimum..

 

A good bit of experience dealing with difficult projects.

Lots of background in Oracle, including data loading and data warehousing. Working with multiple terabites of data

An expert level shell programmer (BASH mostly)

Super strong with PHP.

 

1. Oracle Administration background (Extensive experience writing and dealing with in house developed log parsing systems)

2. Extensive experience with shell programming using BASH and PHP

3. Data Warehousing experience

4. Experience writing shell programs for oracle's sqlloader application

5. College degree in either the computer science, mathematics or statistics

6. Strong communication capability

7.  Analytical / statistical system design experience

8. Experience as a software developer on an agile software development team

 

This is a core role on a small team of strong developers and executives.  The system this person will be maintaining is the front end of a mutli-terabyte advertising industry database with multiple input points. The ideal candidate will either have extensive experience in multiple forms of data warehousing and data warehousing automation, or be a strong software developer with much experience in feeding into raw data into data warehousing systems.  This position is extremely technical.
