Position: Oracle developer/DBA
Location: Rockville, MD
Duration: 6 months
Position Purpose:
Design, develop, and maintain database applications.
Scope:
Analyses application requirements and makes design decisions to support them.
Working Relationships/Contacts:
Work with product managers, project managers, and other development team members on a daily basis to analyze requirements, and design and development technical solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements
2. Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and technical) requirements
3. Implement database solutions using available database development tools
4. Provide first level operational support for development and production database systems
5. Provide written status reports to management regarding project status, task, and issues/risks
Qualification Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
2. 5 years working experience in Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational database
3. Good written and verbal communication skills
4. Good technical and problem solving skills; knowledge of Oracle database server, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, SQL Server, UNIX, shell scripting
